Envelope opened to a packed out theatre last Friday night at Metro Arts. Performing as part of Metro Arts' 2013 Season on the Independents, Envelope is a show created by The Vertebras' and written by Finn O'Branagain.
Entering from the side alley of Metro, audience members are thanked for coming by cast members and are invited to take an envelope off the wall containing a piece of life advice passed on from previous audiences. The ensemble is made up of 5 incredibly talented and charming women who guide you through a series of different ages, life milestones and coming of age events. They sing, they dance, share stories of first times and last times.
What makes Envelope so entertaining, heartwarming and even heartbreaking at times is that all of the stories told on stage are true, either being direct experiences of the performers or stories sent in from the general public. This show is relatable and told with a good sense of humour. This is the perfect show to take friends or family along to who don't have much interest in theatre. This show will prove them wrong! Theatre can be fun and hilarious and totally, unashamedly honest. Get yo' tickets HERE :)
